How to Clean Acrylic Nails Underneath (Best Method)

Acrylic nails can collect dirt easily if you wear them regularly. Acrylics are a favorite of many women so it is important to learn how to clean them. Dirt can cause a complete ruin to your Mani’s appearance and feel.

You will want to keep the Acrylics looking brilliant if you have spent a lot at the Salon. So, in this blog, I am going to tell you the best method of how to clean Acrylic nails underneath.

Acrylics Nails Are Prone To Dirt

Acrylics can be attached to your Natural Nails by a dried gel coating. They cannot be lifted or removed temporarily, and you can’t return them after cleaning them. They must be securely fixed in place.

However, just because they are in good condition doesn’t mean they won’t collect dirt. You can easily pick up dirt and other debris during your daily activities. It doesn’t matter if you are doing Household chores, going on vacation, or working outside, there will be some buildup.

As a precaution, gloves are always recommended. This will reduce the amount of dirt that Acrylics are exposed. This will eliminate the need to clean Acrylic Nails by following the steps below.

It is important to get rid of dirt as soon as possible. Fungus and Bacteria are often associated with dirt, and either one can disrupt your nails’ environment and cause problems.

Acrylics do not have to stop you from living your life and fulfilling your obligations. Acrylics can enhance your appearance but not make you incapable of doing anything.

Today, I want to share with you a three-step method that will keep your acrylic nails clean and shiny. This will restore their shine.

How to Clean Acrylic Nails Underneath?

Step 1 – Use antibacterial soap

To kill any bacteria/fungus, the first thing to do is wash your hands with Antibacterial Soap. My favorite soap is Defense, which is both natural and chemical-free. It is also made with Eucalyptus Tree Oil and Tea Tree Oil, which are great for killing bacteria and Fungus.

Begin by putting your hands on a faucet of lukewarm running water. Allow the water to run through your hands. Turn your hands and nails to expose your Acrylics. Grab the Anti-Bacterial Soap Bar and use it to lather any loose or large pieces of dirt and debris.

Gently scratching at a bar soap is a great way to get soap under your Acrylics. You can then get bits of soap under your Acrylics so it can do its magic. After you have cleaned your nails well, dry them with a towel.

As moisture can lead to further problems, it is essential that you do not leave behind any moisture. Too much water can lead to Acrylics falling off and rising. It can actually worsen the problem by encouraging further growth of Bacteria or Fungus.

It is recommended that you wash your hands as often as possible before starting this step. You can damage the Nail Glue that holds your Acrylics together by washing your hands too often.

Step 2 – Use a soft-bristle toothbrush/nail brush

A Nail Brush, or MicroFine Soft Bristle Toothbrush, is a great way to clean and reach under your nails. These tools are great for reaching those difficult to reach places where dirt often builds up due to their size and shape.

You can do this by gently pushing the brush under your Acrylics. Then, start slow brushing. You should do this for several seconds at a stretch, going through every nail. The bristles will collect any debris under your nails. Lightly dampening the brush before use is a great way to increase its effectiveness.

Because I am always able to reach for my brush and remove any food, dirt, or makeup that may have gotten under my nails, I love having a toothbrush with me. The Body Shop brush is easy to transport and looks great compared with most other brushes on the market.

Step 3: Rubbing alcohol

This is the final step in this three-step process. Although Rubbing Alcohol can be purchased and poured onto a cotton ball, this is not something I like. The Rubbing Alcohol can also be wasted.

This works well with less Rubbing Alcohol. Rubbing Alcohol Wipes are a better alternative. They’re inexpensive and can be used to apply the solution to your nails.

Apply your Rubbing Alcohol to your nails once you have it on either a cotton ball or wipes. To remove any dirt or grit, rub gently on your nails.

Conclusion

Acrylic nails are amazing, but they must be kept clean. Prevention is always better than cure. My best advice is to prioritize Acrylics and avoid getting them dirty. This is best done by wearing gloves whenever and wherever possible. This is the best time to use gloves if you have to perform household chores.

But, gloves can’t always be worn. Sometimes your nails will get dirty from your daily activities and lifestyle. This is a sure-fire method to get rid of any dirt, debris and bacteria that has built up. This is the best method I know of how to clean acrylic nails underneath.
