As airlines continue to make network changes as a result of a continuing pilot shortage,
regional airports and small towns continue to bear the bulk of the cost.
American Airlines has announced its newest step, which is to remove three unimportant U.S. cities off its route map.
With effect from September 7, the airline will stop providing service
to Toledo, Ohio (TOL), Ithaca, New York (ITH), and Islip, New York (ISP).
A representative for the airline verified the information to TPG after distributing it internally to the impacted workers.
