Biden will highlight anti-inflation efforts, as rising prices irritate voters


President Joe Biden of the United States will deliver a speech on his attempts to combat inflation, as rising prices threaten Democrats' already tenuous grasp on Congress following the midterm elections.

An official familiar with the president's intentions said the president will discuss his legislative drive on Tuesday at the White House.

Biden will contrast his approach with a Republican plan to raise taxes while allowing popular programs like Social Security and Medicare to expire.

These Republican elements came from Florida Senator Rick Scott's proposal.

Despite good employment growth, Americans are becoming increasingly worried about their finances due to growing prices.

Food, energy, and shelter costs drove the fastest increase in consumer prices since 1981 in March.
