SACRAMENTO, California (AP) – An ambitious California plan intends to cut plastic manufacture for single-use goods
such as shampoo bottles and food wrappers by 25% over
the next decade as part of an attempt to limit pollution from the omnipresent material.
A bill filed late Thursday tries to bring together environmental and commercial organizations
in order to avert a similar ballot initiative on the November ballot.
However, at least two of the ballot measure's three supporters have yet to sign on.
