According to a notice filed in court Monday, Idaho intends to pursue the death sentence for Lori Vallow, who is charged with the murders of her two children, Tylee Ryan and JJ Vallow.
If Vallow is convicted on any of the counts of first-degree murder and/or any of the counts of conspiracy to commit first-degree murder, the state will seek the death sentence, according to the notice.
At Vallow's arraignment on April 19, her attorney entered a not guilty plea to all charges against her.
After authorities questioned Vallow and Chad Daybell about Tylee and JJ's whereabouts and the recent death of Daybell's first wife, Tammy, the children's disappearance became national news.
Vallow married Daybell in September 2019, two months after her children vanished and a few weeks after Tammy died.
Law enforcement officials discovered the children's remains on Daybell's ranch in Fremont County, Idaho, in June 2020. In May 2021, the two were charged with murder.
