Ford Motor Company F.N is recalling over 3.3 million vehicles in North America due to the possibility of them rolling away.
Because a faulty or missing component may prevent the car from changing into the proper gear.
The recall affects slightly over 2.9 million vehicles in the United States and 394,000 in Canada.
The car may not shift into the intended gear if the shift cable bushing is damaged or missing, or the vehicle may roll when the driver enters the 'Park' position.
Ford claimed it has received six reports of property damage and four instances of injuries allegedly caused by the recalled vehicles.
Ford informed the EPA that this is the company's seventh recall related to the problem since 2018. In past shift cable part recalls, Ford recalled nearly 1.4 million vehicles worldwide.
