Ford recalls over 100,000 vehicles over fire risks in engine

Nearly a month after recalling millions of its vehicles, Ford is now voluntarily recalling over 100,000 SUVs and trucks due to fire concerns in the engine.

The business is recalling certain of its 2.5-liter hybrid or plug-in hybrid-powered 2020–2022 Ford Escapes, 2021–2022 Lincoln Corsairs, and 2022 Mavericks.

In the event of an engine failure, fuel and engine oil vapor may be spilled into the chamber where the engine is kept and may gather around ignition sources like the engine and exhaust parts.

If anyone driving one of the cars notices "strange engine noises, notices a decrease, or sees smoke," they should stop and turn off the engines "as swiftly as feasible."

According to Ford, there have been no injuries recorded.

Ford recalled more than 39,000 Ford Expeditions and Lincoln Navigators in May due to the possibility of a fire starting beneath the hood even while the vehicle was parked or turned off.
