Hersheypark’s Wildcat to close on July 31

The Wildcat, the second-oldest wooden roller coaster at Hersheypark, will shut down on Sunday, July 31.

On Sunday, July 31, the attraction is scheduled to close at the end of the day, according to Hersheypark's social media channels.

In the park's Midway America expansion, The Wildcat debuted in 1996.

The roller coaster was the first to be constructed by Pennsylvania-based Great Coasters International. (GCI)

In May 2000, GCI completed construction of Lightning Racer, a double of wooden roller coasters, in Hersheypark.

Later this year, Hersheypark will provide more information regarding what will replace the ride.
