Linda Hampton was already struggling to pay her credit card bills
last year due to thousands of dollars in notary business expenditures.
Then, in mid-2021, inflation began to soar, particularly in petrol, electricity, and grocery costs.
"I simply began using my credit card for everything," Hampton says,
even when it comes to a combined electric, natural gas,
and water bill that has more than quadrupled since 2020 and reached $864 last month.
