Sale of Boots scrapped by US owner Walgreens

Walgreens, the largest drugstore chain in the United States, has abandoned efforts to sell Boots,

claiming that purchasers were unable to gather sufficient financing owing to financial market volatility.

Following the sale of Boots in January, Walgreens stated that it had

received many proposals for the drugstore company.

However, none of the proposals appropriately represented the UK drugstore chain's high potential worth, according to the company.

The Walgreens Boots Alliance announced that it will retain Boots and the No7 beauty brand.
