SEOUL (AP) — South Korea and the United States flew fighter aircraft in formation over South Korea's western sea
on Tuesday in a show of force amid speculation that a North Korean nuclear test explosion is close.
The trip took place as US Deputy Secretary of State Wendy Sherman headed to Seoul
for talks with South Korean and Japanese allies about the looming North Korean threat,
warning of a "swift and powerful" reaction if the North
conducts its first nuclear test in over five years.
