Despite the United States Supreme Court's decision to overturn the historic federal abortion rights case Roe vs. Wade,
abortion access in California will remain protected under state law,
and Democratic leaders will likely extend those rights soon.
The state has been preparing for an influx from areas of the country where
abortion bans will be reinstated for the first time since 1973, with various bills
and budget proposals calling for millions of dollars to be set aside for uninsured abortion services
