After fans discovered an advertisement on YouTube purporting to expose Snoop Dogg's passing, bogus tales of the rapper's death quickly spread online.
The advertisement on the well-known streaming platform seemed to announce that Snoop, real name Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr., was "discovered today by local authorities"
This information has since been disproven.
Another fictitious Facebook post called "RIP Snoop Dogg" stated that the rapper best known for his work on Gin' N' Juice had died "at about 11am on Saturday," July 9, 2022.
Before it was extensively refuted and deleted, the page amassed close to a million likes.
Sadly, this wasn't even the first time that Snoop Dogg had been the target of erroneous information.
